How to Configure Server Settings in Cloudy

Cloudy's Server Settings Manager lets server administrators change how Cloudy works in their Discord server. You can choose text and voice channels, change the command prefix, set the default volume, and manage other music features using one command.

The Settings Manager shows your current settings and provides buttons to change them. This makes it easy to manage everything in one place without remembering different commands.

Requirements

Before changing your server settings, make sure Cloudy has been added to your Discord server and you have permission to manage server settings.

If you cannot open the Settings Manager or change any settings, ask your server administrator for help.

Open the Server Settings Manager

Use the following command in any text channel where Cloudy is available:

/settings

Cloudy will open the Server Settings Manager, where you can see your current settings and the buttons used to change them.

Current Settings

The manager shows the following settings:

• •Text Channel — The text channel Cloudy uses for commands and replies.
• •Voice Channel — The default voice channel for music.
• •Prefix — The prefix used for supported text commands.
• •Auto Shuffle — Whether Cloudy automatically shuffles songs.
• •Default Volume — The volume Cloudy uses by default.
• •Voice Status — Whether Cloudy shows the current song in its voice channel status.
• •Vote Skip — Whether users can vote to skip a song.
• •Live Lyrics — Whether Live Lyrics is turned on or off.
• •Activity Log — Whether music activity logging is turned on or off.

Each setting has its own button. You can also use Reset All to return your settings to their default values.

Set the Text Channel

The Text Channel setting lets you choose a channel where Cloudy should respond to commands. This helps keep music commands and replies in one place instead of filling up other channels.

How to Set the Text Channel

• •Run /settings to open the Settings Manager.
• •Click Text Channel.

• •Select the text channel you want Cloudy to use.
• •Confirm your choice if asked.

Cloudy will save your selected channel.

Note: If you do not set a text channel, Cloudy can respond in any text channel where it has the required permissions.

Set the Voice Channel

The Voice Channel setting lets you choose a default voice channel for your server's music. This is useful if your server has a dedicated channel for listening to music.

How to Set the Voice Channel

• •Open the Settings Manager using /settings.
• •Click Voice Channel.

• •Select the voice channel you want to use.
• •Confirm your choice if asked.

Cloudy will save your selected voice channel.

Note: If you do not set a voice channel, Cloudy can use voice channels according to its normal playback behavior and available permissions.

Change the Command Prefix

Cloudy lets you set a custom prefix for supported text commands. You can use these commands alongside Discord's slash commands.

How to Change the Prefix

• •Run /settings.
• •Click Prefix.

• •Select Set Custom Prefix.

• •A pop-up window will appear where you can enter a new prefix.
• •Enter your preferred prefix and click Submit.

For example, you can use:

• •!
• •?
• •$
• •c!

Cloudy will use your new prefix for supported text commands.

Reset the Prefix

If you want to use the default prefix again:

• •Open /settings.
• •Click Prefix.
• •Select Reset to Default.

Important: Slash commands, such as /settings, will continue to work through Discord's slash-command system. Changing your prefix does not change how slash commands work.

Note: If Cloudy suddenly stops responding to your custom prefix commands, the feature may not be working properly. You can still use slash commands, such as /settings, to access Cloudy's features. If the problem continues, please contact the Cloudy Support Team for help.

Set the Default Volume

The Default Volume setting controls the volume Cloudy uses when a new music session starts.

How to Change the Default Volume

• •Run /settings.
• •Click Default Volume.

• •Click Set Volume.
• •A pop-up window will appear.

• •Enter a value between 1 and 100.
• •Click Submit to save your changes.

Cloudy will use your chosen volume as the default for new playback sessions.

Example: If you set the volume to 70, Cloudy will use 70 as the default volume.

Choose a volume that is comfortable for you and your server members.

Enable or Disable Auto Shuffle

Auto Shuffle automatically changes the order of upcoming songs when a song finishes playing. This helps keep your music sessions varied without needing to shuffle songs manually.

How to Change Auto Shuffle

• •Open the Settings Manager using /settings.
• •Click Auto Shuffle.

• •Choose Enable or Disable.
• •Confirm your choice if asked.

When enabled, Cloudy automatically shuffles upcoming songs.

When disabled, songs continue playing in the order they appear in the queue, unless someone changes the order.

Set Up Voice Status

Voice Status lets Cloudy show information about the song currently playing in its voice channel status.

How to Change Voice Status

• •Run /settings.
• •Click Voice Status.

• •Choose whether to enable or disable the feature.
• •Confirm your choice if asked.

When enabled, users can check the voice channel status to see what Cloudy is playing without opening the music queue.

You can turn it off if you do not want Cloudy to show this information.

Set Up Vote Skip

Vote Skip lets users vote to skip the current song. This is useful when several people are listening together, because everyone can take part in the decision.

How to Change Vote Skip

• •Open the Settings Manager using /settings.
• •Click Vote Skip.

• •Choose Enable or Disable.
• •Confirm your choice if asked.

When enabled, Cloudy uses its voting system to decide when a song should be skipped.

When disabled, users cannot skip songs through voting. Skipping will follow Cloudy's normal command permissions.

Tip: Vote Skip is useful for public servers where many members listen to music together.

Set Up Live Lyrics

The Live Lyrics setting lets you turn Cloudy's Live Lyrics feature on or off.

How to Change Live Lyrics

• •Run /settings.
• •Click Live Lyrics.

• •Choose whether to enable or disable the feature.
• •Confirm your choice if asked.

When enabled, Cloudy can show lyrics during playback for supported songs.

Note: Lyrics may not be available for every song.

Set Up Activity Log

The Activity Log setting lets you turn Cloudy's music activity logging feature on or off.

How to Change Activity Log

• •Run /settings.
• •Click Activity Log.

• •Choose whether to enable or disable the feature.
• •Confirm your choice if asked.

When enabled, Cloudy can record supported music activities.

Turn this feature on if you want to use music activity logs. Turn it off if you do not need them.

Reset All Settings

The Reset All button lets you return your server's settings to their default values.

Warning: Resetting all settings may remove your saved choices, including your text channel, voice channel, prefix, volume, and other settings.

How to Reset Your Settings

• •Open the Settings Manager using /settings.
• •Click the red Reset All button.

• •Read the confirmation message.
• •Confirm only if you want to reset your settings.

After the reset, run /settings again to check your settings.

Important: You may need to set up your preferred channels, prefix, volume, and other options again.

Troubleshooting

I Cannot Open the Settings Manager

• •Make sure you are using /settings.
• •Check that Cloudy is in your server.
• •Make sure you have permission to manage server settings.
• •Try running the command again.

My Text or Voice Channel Is Not Working

• •Open the Settings Manager using /settings.
• •Click the correct channel button.
• •Select the channel you want to use.
• •Make sure Cloudy has permission to access that channel.
• •Open the Settings Manager again to check your settings.

My Custom Prefix Is Not Working

• •Run /settings and click Prefix.
• •Check that your new prefix was saved.
• •Make sure you are using the correct prefix with a supported text command.
• •Remember that slash commands, such as /settings, use Discord's slash-command system.

Auto Shuffle or Vote Skip Is Not Working

• •Run /settings.
• •Open the setting you want to use.
• •Make sure the feature is enabled.
• •Try using the feature again.

Live Lyrics or Voice Status Is Not Working

• •Run /settings and check that the feature is enabled.
• •Make sure the song or voice channel supports the feature.
• •Try another song if the problem continues.

Activity Logs Are Not Appearing

• •Run /settings.
• •Click Activity Log.
• •Make sure it is enabled.
• •Check whether the activity you want to see is supported.

I Accidentally Reset My Settings

Run /settings again and set up your preferred text channel, voice channel, prefix, volume, and other options.
