How to Create & Manage Playlists in Cloudy Discord Bot

Cloudy allows you to create, manage, organize, and share your own music playlists directly from Discord. With the Playlist Manager, you can add songs, import playlists, change visibility settings, share playlists with other users, and much more.

Opening the Playlist Manager

To get started, type the /playlist command in any text channel where Cloudy is available. This will open the Playlist Manager, which serves as the central hub for all playlist-related actions.

Creating a Playlist

Creating a playlist only takes a few steps.

Step 1: Open the Playlist Manager

Use the /playlist command to open the Playlist Manager.

Step 2: Click Create

Click the Create button to begin creating a new playlist.

Step 3: Enter a Playlist Name

A modal window will appear. Enter the name you want to use for your playlist.

Step 4: Submit the Form

Click Submit to create your playlist.

Step 5: Confirmation

After submission, Cloudy will display a confirmation message indicating that your playlist has been successfully created.

Opening an Existing Playlist

After creating a playlist, you can access it through the Playlist Manager.

Step 1: Open the Playlist Manager

Use the /playlist command.

Step 2: Select Your Playlist

Click Select a Playlist and choose the playlist you want to manage.

Step 3: Open the Playlist Dashboard

Once selected, the Playlist Manager Dashboard will open, giving you access to all playlist management features.

Playlist Manager Features

The Playlist Manager includes several tools to fully manage your playlist:

  • Add Song — Add a single track.
  • Add Many — Import multiple tracks at once.
  • Remove — Delete songs from the playlist.
  • Play — Play the playlist immediately.
  • Rename — Change the playlist name.
  • Remove Dupes — Remove duplicate tracks.
  • Details — View playlist information and track list.
  • Visibility — Configure playlist privacy settings.
  • Delete — Permanently delete the playlist.
  • Share — Generate a share token.
  • Export — Export playlist data.
  • Like — Save the playlist to your liked playlists.

Adding a Single Song

Step 1: Open Your Playlist

Access your playlist through the Playlist Manager.

Step 2: Click Add Song

Select the Add Song button.

Step 3: Enter Song Information

A modal window will appear. Enter either a song name or a direct song URL.

Step 4: Submit

Submit the form and Cloudy will add the track to your playlist.

Adding Multiple Songs

You can import several tracks at once using the Add Many feature.

Step 1: Open Your Playlist

Access your playlist through the Playlist Manager.

Step 2: Click Add Many

Select the Add Many button.

Step 3: Enter Multiple Songs

You can provide multiple song names or a playlist URL from a supported platform.

Step 4: Submit

Submit the modal and Cloudy will automatically import and add all tracks to your playlist.

Removing Songs from a Playlist

Step 1: Open the Remove Manager

Open your playlist and click Remove. The Remove Manager will open.

Step 2: Select Songs

Choose the tracks you want to remove.

Step 3: Review Selection

After selecting tracks, a confirmation menu will appear.

Step 4: Confirm Removal

Click Confirm Remove.

Step 5: Completion

Cloudy will display a confirmation message after the songs have been successfully removed.

Viewing Playlist Details

To see detailed information about your playlist, click the Details button in the Playlist Manager. This will display the playlist's tracks and additional information.

Managing Playlist Visibility

Cloudy provides several visibility options that control who can access your playlist.

Step 1: Open Visibility Settings

Click the Visibility button in the Playlist Manager.

Select the option that best fits your needs.

Public

Anyone using Cloudy can view and like your playlist.

Private

Only you can access the playlist.

Shared

The playlist can be accessed by users who have the generated share token.

Sharing a Playlist

Step 1: Configure Visibility

Before sharing, set your playlist visibility to either Public or Shared.

Step 2: Click Share

Click the Share button in the Playlist Manager.

Step 3: Copy the Share Token

Cloudy will generate a share token that other users can use to import your playlist.

Additional Features

Play

Immediately start playback of the playlist.

Rename

Change the playlist name without affecting its contents.

Remove Dupes

Automatically remove duplicate tracks from the playlist.

Delete

Permanently delete the playlist and all associated data.

Export

Export playlist data for backup or sharing purposes.

Like

Save a public playlist to your liked playlists collection for easy access later.

/importplaylist

Use /importplaylist to import a playlist that has been shared with you. Simply provide the playlist's share token, and Cloudy will add the playlist to your library.

Use /playplaylist to play one of your saved playlists. Select the playlist you want to play, and Cloudy will automatically load and start playback.

/savequeue

Use /savequeue to save the current music queue directly into one of your playlists. This is useful when you want to preserve the songs currently queued for future listening.

/favourite

Use /favourite to quickly add the currently playing song to your Favorites playlist. This allows you to build a personal collection of songs you enjoy without manually managing a playlist.

/playfavorites

Use /playfavorites to instantly play all songs stored in your Favorites playlist. This is the fastest way to listen to your favorite tracks without selecting songs individually.
